Sunday Night Waiver Thread and FAAB Chat

7:41
Eric: Are there any SPs you think could lose starts once their team stalls?
7:42
Jeff Zimmerman: It’s hard to say at this point
7:43
Jeff Zimmerman: The teams that have dropped out have public holidays to set up their rotations, so no breaks. I think it’s more likely to be the wild card teams that have stalled and want to make sure their aces go early on
7:43
JACK: Garcia in Houston will lose starts
7:44
Jeff Zimmerman: And thank you for waiting during this time. My computer just crashed.
7:45
Jeff Zimmerman:
7:45
Jeff Zimmerman: Here are this week‘s All Wars FAAB deals.
7:45
seanold: Also, would you drop Raleigh for another C? The injury reoccurred today, worrying about no PA
7:46
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, depends on your options. Thread looks dry with people adding Conteras replacements
7:46
seanold: Hi Jeff, thanks for taking the time on another Sunday. I have a 15 team roto league with 1st-6th in races separated by 6, so I’m putting most of my remaining FAAB into Rs hunting. Rank my race options: Daza, JP Crawford, Straw, Oswaldo Cabrera , The climb
7:47
Jeff Zimmerman: JP Crawford, Daza… the other Cabrera… the others don’t matter
7:48
Groking: Which Met this week, Bassitt, Carrasco or Walker?
7:49
Jeff Zimmerman: According to Razzball, Carrasco, Walker, then Bassitt
7:49
Ryan: Chasing wins, RP to try last 10 days?
7:50 am
Jeff Zimmerman: Glasnow is a follower
7:51
Dave in slc: Someone you can think of who’s been called up and probably not on a roster now for AL or nl, only keepers who might be good next time so worth bidding this year ?
7:51
Jeff Zimmerman: Really? Talk about the world’s most vague question.
7:51
I f: Hey Jeff, 10 team NL only league – for last SP considering Mr. Kelly, Grove, Falter or Elder (last 2 still have 2 starts). Thoughts?
7:52
Jeff Zimmerman: Reasonable starts if you can handle the rides
7:52
JACK: Do you trust Civale for the win or the ERA
7:52
Jeff Zimmerman: No, but I have to play it in a few places because it’s the best option.
7:53
fondant: Favorites (for NL only) of Vierling, Bae, Siani, Tovar and Vientos
7:53
Jeff Zimmerman: Probably Tovar
7:53
owen: Thanks for the help all year round.
7:53
Jeff Zimmerman: You’re welcome Owen
7:53
Rush: under-the-radar catchers to air next week? noticed you mentioned Jansen but he belongs to my league. Strong?
7:54
Jeff Zimmerman: I’ve been using Nick Fortes for a while
7:54
Jeff Zimmerman: 25% registered in CB NFBC
7:54
Jeff Zimmerman: Ghomes with Conteras released
7:55
Charles: Do you expect Tyler O’Neill to be activated this week? I haven’t seen an update. Thanks.
7:55
Jeff Zimmerman: I expect it but it will be pampered
7:56
Guest: Would you ever consider seating all your pitchers in an h2h league if you had a good era/whip and big leads in other cayegories after week 1? Or is it against the spirit of the game?
7:56
Jeff Zimmerman: Of course, try your luck. The rules are the rules
7:56
Devil Ray Jay Johnson: Thank you for the discussions and the help in winning my league. What was your favorite van of the year?
7:57
Jeff Zimmerman:Jake McCarthy
7:59
The Batman: In a SOLDS league, would you kick this category in favor of streamers if your opponent in the finals has a clear advantage in this category? that is, already two high-quality relievers.
8:00 a.m.
Jeff Zimmerman: Sure. Also, I don’t know the size of your benches, but you can add a bunch of irons that look like they might compete and he might even add another reliever
8:00 a.m.
Guest: Not a question for you, but I keep wondering why I started Miley rather than Kelly or Lodolo
8:00 a.m.
Jeff Zimmerman: More Lodolo… I’m not sure.
8:00 a.m.
Devil Ray Jay Johnson: What type of waiver thread you publicized crashed and burned the worst?
8:01
Jeff Zimmerman: Recently, I thought that Steer would be better.
8:02
Jeff Zimmerman: I was all in with Chris Paddack
8:02
Jeff Zimmerman: It lasted about a week.
8:03
Devil Ray Jay Johnson: Paddack lasted a week
8:03
Jeff Zimmerman: The worst
8:03
Here is a vague question: Thoughts?
8:04
Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t know, it’s a difficult decision
8:04
Purple Mays Haze: Where do you find out who the “follower” is? I’m mostly asking because I didn’t know Glasnow was following this week – but also a general question to find that info…
8:04
Jeff Zimmerman: Rotowire starting launcher grid.
8:05
Jeff Zimmerman: Let me take a screenshot
8:06
Jeff Zimmerman:
8:06
Jeff Zimmerman: Rotowire and Razzball are the two sources that I will gladly pay for during the season. Well worth the time saved.
8:07
Devil Ray Jay Johnson: You are participating in a league-only auction next March. You are short on money and need SB. Raul Mondesi is sent off and is penciled in to start for KC. There is no immediate action. Are you bidding?
8:07
Jeff Zimmerman: Not more than a dollar or two
8:07
Jeff Zimmerman: In one you need stability
8:08
KCbbq: Kerry Carpenter performed pretty well for the Tigers and hit in the 4-6 holes. Does he hold in 2023? Got it for $1 in AL only.
8:08
Jeff Zimmerman: Now that was someone I was wrong about. He started playing and hitting, then the Tigers just sat him down
8:09
Jeff Zimmerman: I think it is worth registering
8:09
Purple Mays Haze: But doesn’t that show Cleavinger as the main pitcher?
8:09
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, you’re right
8:09
C.Javier: Do I start this week?
8:09
Jeff Zimmerman: I think so for now, probably Sunday
8:10
Bo Bo: Playoff to: which 2 to choose Mountcastle, Gunnar, Jung? Also Ober someone to consider with his 2 starts? Thank you Jeff for the effort you put in all year and the advice you give to fantastic guys like me.
8:10
Jeff Zimmerman: I use Ober everywhere, caught him last week for these two starts
8:10
Jeff Zimmerman: I would go with Mount and Gunnar
8:10
seanold: Where would Bradish rank in your Waiver Wire SP?
8:11
Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe in front of Lorenzen
8:11
KCbbq: Picked up Torkelson for $1 a few weeks ago in just 12 AL teams. What do you expect from him for 2023?
8:13
Jeff Zimmerman: He’s been everywhere. I’m going to have to dive deep into him.
8:13
Jeff Zimmerman: His strikeouts are down, but I don’t know why. That’s why there is an offseason
8:14
Randy West: Would you start Ober or Roansy for 2 starts on a single start from Fried, Verlander, Cole, Rodon?
8:14
Jeff Zimmerman: I would go with single starts
8:14
Andrew: Somehow I made the final of my league. These discussions and your weekly waiver column have been invaluable tools. Thanks!
8:14
Jeff Zimmerman: You’re welcome Andrew
8:15
Devil Ray Jay Johnson: Someone who hasn’t run much this year and who you think will run more next year?
8:16
Jeff Zimmerman: Predicting SB is going to be a mess this season with all the new rules.
8:16
Randy West: Hey Jeff, entering week two of the H2H Points Championship. Thank you for your help all year…. My pitching is strong but I’m really missing two starters this week. Do you usually roll with your best pitchers regardless of game or do you consider PLUS games at this time of year. Example: Carrasco vs. Mia or Cole @ Toronto?
8:18
Jeff Zimmerman: That’s why I use the Razzball projection. They give the expected statistics for the start(s) and then evaluate them.
8:18
Jeff Zimmerman: Right now, Ober is valued at $16 and Cole at $14.
8:19
Steve in New York: 15 tm NFBC, please rank Civale, B Garrett, F Peralta, M Grove and J Wentz for the remainder. Thanks.
8:20
Jeff Zimmerman: Most are in my article on the disclaimer thread. Grove is the last. Peralta first and the other two between them
8:20
Devil Ray Jay Johnson: We all have one: Which player couldn’t you pull the trigger on even if the projections suggested you should at this price?
8:21
Jeff Zimmerman: I’m still irritated about this.
8:21
Rush: in nfbc OC do you find it more helpful to list more bench hitters than usual the next two weeks to give you options since this is the last week for two start streaming pitchers
8:22
Jeff Zimmerman: No, I added pitchers for this last week. If I need saves, I look at saves for all four teams with dual headers (Tigers, Yankees, Mariners, and Rangers)
8:22
Deep six the phantom runner: Is Razzball the most underrated fantasy baseball site? Thank you for your help this year
8:23
Jeff Zimmerman: That’s worth $1 a week in time saved
8:23
Jeff Zimmerman: I like the Masterball pre-season
8:23
bart: How many rounds do you think Hunter Brown, Bryce Elder and Kyle Muller get this week?
8:23
Jeff Zimmerman: Four, maybe five
8:24
Devil Ray Jay Johnson: DON’T MAKE ME LEARN ANOTHER TIGERS RELIEVER’S NAME
8:25
Jeff Zimmerman: I didn’t even rank one since they won’t get a win. Moreover, they are not gifted.
8:25
John: For 9 days Canha, D. Villar or TJ Friedl? Thanks, Jeff for your good work!
8:25
Jeff Zimmerman: I like Villar
8:25
Devil Ray Jay Johnson: Dayton Moore has free time and is asking to join your league. Do you let it?
8:26
Jeff Zimmerman: Hell yeah and I’m getting hair implants in my palms.
8:26
Guest:Re: Adding a bunch of relievers to make it look like you’re competing. I did it. The opponent also adjusted and added relievers. I traded a bunch of starters just before the games locked and ended up winning it all.
8:27
Tim: Would you drop Raleigh for Jansen with the thumb issue this week?
8:27
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, you might have the space to have both
8:28
Jeff Zimmerman: It’s all for this week. Good luck for the last few days.
